Uzbekistan will give priority to grain by railroads

A bilateral meeting of delegations of KTZh-Gruzovye Transportation LLP and Uzbekistan Temir Yullari JSC was held in Astana, World of NAN reports with reference to KTZh.

For 8 months of 2023, the volume of cargo transportation by rail between the countries increased by 26% to the same period of 2022 and amounted to 20.6 million tons.

Exports of grain increased by 38%, flour by 77%, imports of chemical and mineral fertilizers by 67%, fruits and dried berries by 10%, cars by 6% and others.

The parties agreed to increase the exchange of trains at the interstate junction point Saryagash - Keles with giving priority to such cargoes as grain, oil products under an additional plan.

At the meeting an agreement was reached on the formation of new supply chains of fresh fruit and vegetable products. In the near future, it is planned to organize the launch of pilot through refrigerated train on firm time slots on the route from the stations of Uzbekistan to Iletsk station (RK), then refrigerated wagons will be used to export fruit and vegetable products from Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan.
