Only two countries, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, accounted for about 98% of exports, while during the same period of the previous season this figure was estimated at 71%, World of NAN reports with reference to APK Inform.
In the five months of 2021/22, 34.1 thousand tons of sunflower oil was exported from Kazakhstan. This was 21% less than the same period of the previous season.
The market turned out to be more consolidated. The observed decrease in supplies to Uzbekistan in the reporting period was fully offset by an increase in purchases from Tajikistan. But the biggest impact on the overall reduction of supplies was caused by reduction of oil purchases by China (-97% to last year's figure). Also among the importers of Kazakh oil are Afghanistan, Russia and Kyrgyzstan. But supply volumes to these countries are insignificant.
As for the structure of supplies, the increase in exports of refined sunflower oil to Uzbekistan should be noted. Thus, according to the results of September-January 2021/22, the volume of supplies of this product reached 8.8 thousand tons, which was by 26% more than for the same period of the previous season. Accordingly, in the structure of export the share of refined oil increased to 41% against 27% in the previous season.
The share of packaged oil in the total volume of export has also slightly increased, amounting to 43% in the current season against 41% in September-January 2020/21. At the same time, in absolute terms, the volume of packaged products is slightly inferior to last year's values (-12%).
