Abay region will increase meat processing

In 2023-2024 two enterprises for processing meat products will be launched in Abay region, reports World of NAN referring to the Akimat of the region.

Thus, it is planned to launch a meat-canning plant for the production of finished products "Ykylas invest" with a production capacity of 600 tons per year this year. Next year "Eurasia Agro Semey" enterprise with production capacity of 12,6 thousand tons a year will start operating. The project is under state expertise.

Today there are 39 fattening sites and three sausage shops in Abay region. However, the region lacks production capacity for processing meat products.

"In our region there are functioning feedlots and sausage shops. For example, in Borodulikha district there is a shop for the production of finished meat products with an annual capacity of 375 tons. In Semey, there is a shop "Kalikanuly" with a capacity of 100 tons per year. Another shop "Arai East Food" brings raw materials from Mongolia. The production capacity of the shop is 3,650 tons per year. However, there is still a shortage of large processing enterprises", - added the first deputy akim of the region Aidyn Karimov.
