Only local enterprises invest in agro-industrial complex of Kazakhstan

Investments in agro-industrial sector of Kazakhstan have increased by more than 40% for the year, about 96% of capital investments are provided by enterprises' own funds and non-bank loans, World of NAN reports referring to Finprom.kz.

In January-August 2021 investments in fixed assets in agriculture, forestry and fisheries amounted to 427 billion tenge, which is 46.2% more than a year earlier (292 billion tenge). The real growth of the physical volume amounted to 43.2%.

Practically the whole volume of investments was directed to crop and livestock production: 99.4% of Kazakhstan or 424.4 billion tg. Including 278.1 billion tenge were invested in the segment of cultivation of one- or two-year crops, 98.2 billion tenge in animal husbandry, 38.9 billion tenge in mixed agriculture, 7.8 billion tenge in cultivation of perennial crops, 1.4 billion tenge in the sphere of activity promoting cultivation of agricultural crops and breeding of animals and crop processing activity. The remaining amount of investments came from fisheries - 2.5 billion tenge, as well as forestry and lumbering - a total of 77.3 million tenge.

In the regional context, the largest amount of capital investment came from North-Kazakhstan region: 106.4 billion tenge, 53.5% more than in January-August 2020. The three leading regions are also Akmola region - 66.8 billion tenge and Pavlodar region - 49.4 billion tenge.

The largest increase of investments this year is observed in Mangistau region: 4.6 times a year in value terms; however, in the end, the volume of investments in the region amounted to only 244.3 million tenge. The largest reduction in the volume of investments was recorded in West Kazakhstan region - by 30.8% to 9.3 billion tenge.

Most of the investments in the sector were provided at the expense of own funds of enterprises: 291.9 billion tenge, 43.8% more than last year. Non-bank borrowed funds in the total investment portfolio of agriculture amounted to 116.6 billion tenge, plus 76.3%.

At the expense of bank credits 18.5 billion tenge was invested, 19.1% less than the year before. There were no direct capital investments from the budget funds in the sector.
