Atyrau region will restart a wool processing plant

Atyrau region plans to restart a 2.4 billion tenge wool processing plant, World of NAN reports referring to LS.

According to the regional Akimat, the operation of a facility for processing sheep and camel wool has been suspended in the region. The cost of the project was 2.4 billion tenge, of which 1.58 billion tenge was invested by the Atyrau joint venture with the condition of return, and 829.5 million tenge was paid by the initiator. However, the amount was not returned to Joint Venture Company.

"From 2014 to 2021, the repayment of the loan was at a low level. Also, the enterprise lacked specialists, stable production and planning of the production process," was explained in the state body.The capacity of the enterprise at the first stage was 100 tons of camel wool and 350 tons of sheep wool. The second stage included the production of 400 thousand running meters of woolen and quilted blankets and quilts. According to the information 30 to 40 people worked at the factory at different times.

At the moment the possibility of reanimation of the factory is being considered. Earlier, the Akimat assured that the search for potential investors and markets continues.
