Pilot agricultural census to start in August

The pilot agricultural census project will commence in August 2024, World of NAN reports citing the cabinet.

The Bureau of National Statistics will not engage external interviewers. The census will be conducted by staff of the territorial units on a sample basis. The pilot will cover all regions, with 2 villages and 1 town in each region.

The census will be conducted online on a specialized website and by interviewing respondents. In this way, the intention is to test the methodology, information systems and software, census forms and organization of fieldwork, the quality of Internet coverage and the operation of systems in the absence of a network.

For example, the city of Shemonaikha was selected as a place for the pilot agricultural census in East Kazakhstan Region, in Pavlodar Region - Aksu city, Birlik and Karakuduk villages, in Turkestan Region - Saryagash, Yntymak, Kershetas. The pilot will also be held in cities of republican importance: in the Kolsai microdistrict of Almaty, in the Kuigenzhar residential area of Astana, in Akzhar of Shymkent.

Recall that in 2025 in Kazakhstan will conduct a complete census of agricultural enterprises, peasant, farmer, private subsidiary farms in cities and villages, as well as gardening and dacha cooperatives.
