Kazakhstan has begun to create a vaccine against FMD

This was stated by Kunsulu Zakarya, Head of the Academy of Sciences under the President of Kazakhstan, reports World of NAN referring to Kazinform.

"A factory was opened at the Research Institute of Biological Safety Problems, where large-scale research is being conducted today, as well as the transfer of pilot tests and their scaling into industrial production. Vaccines against bird flu and against foot and mouth disease", - said Kunsulu Zakarya behind the scenes of the Astana International Forum.

According to her, a vaccine against foot-and-mouth disease will be produced in Kazakhstan in the near future.

"We are holding major negotiations on the FMD vaccine with the world's leading company Boehringer Ingelheim, and we think that in the near future we will produce a joint product. That is, this vaccine will be produced in Kazakhstan. The flu vaccine is already being produced and sold," the speaker added.
