In 2025, Kazakhstan will conduct a complete census of agricultural enterprises, peasant, farmer, private subsidiary farms in cities and villages, as well as gardening and dacha cooperatives, the World of NAN reports with reference to the government.
Recall that in Kazakhstan, the first national census was held in 2006-2007.
"By analogy to the census, legal entities and owners of private subsidiary farms will be asked to fill out census questionnaires on a special web-portal. Data collection on other respondents, who have not been surveyed, will be carried out by interviewers using tablets", - explained the deputy head of the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of RK Maksat Turlubayev.
In cities it is planned to conduct preliminary rounds of garden plots and private subsidiary farms to determine the target population. The accounting date of the survey (one-stage date of census or counting) is August 1, sowing areas will be determined taking into account the areas allocated for the harvest of 2025.
"We need to get a complete and objective picture of the state of agriculture. Without reliable data, it is very difficult to qualitatively plan the development of the industry. Even now we need to start all the necessary procedures and identify errors and shortcomings in the work in order to qualitatively conduct the census in 2025," said Serik Zhumangarin.
In order to test the census questionnaires, methodology, information systems, fieldwork, budget assessment, quality of Internet coverage and operation of information systems without Internet, a pilot survey will be conducted in all regions in August 2024.
