The volume of containerized transportation of grain is growing in Kazakhstan

According to the results of 2021 the volume of grain transportation in containers amounted to 174 thousand tons, 4 times more than in 2020 (44 thousand tons), World of NAN reports with reference to KTZh.

During January-February 2022 there was a double increase of grain transportation in containers - 45 thousand tons compared to the same period last year.

To increase the export of Kazakh agricultural products, the national multimodal operator JSC "KTZh Express" successfully transports grain and leguminous crops in containers. Kazakhstan grain is loaded into containers designed for transportation and storage of various loose and small packaged goods in "Big Bag" sacks in compliance with the necessary sanitary norms.

Container trains are formed at Kazakhstani stations of Kostanay, Zhetisu, Burunday, Zhana-Esil. Then, through the Dostyk border crossing, the cargo follows in the direction of the Chinese cities of Urumqi, Chongqing, and Alashankou, as well as through the Kazakh sea port of Aktau in the direction of the Turkish city of Mersin.
