Egg production has fallen in Kazakhstan

In January-September this year, the country's enterprises produced 3.8 billion eggs, 1.9% less than a year earlier, the World of NAN reports with reference to Energyprom.kz.

In terms of regions, the most eggs were produced in Akmola region: 548.9 million pieces, minus 1.2% for the year. North-Kazakhstan region (543.1 mln eggs, minus 3%) and Karaganda region (514.9 mln eggs, plus 8.9%) were also among the three leading regions.

Following the results of January-August of this year, local companies provided demand (realization in the domestic market plus export) for fresh shell eggs by 93.9% against 96.3% a year earlier.

Imports respectively accounted for 6.1% of resources. The country has imported 217.5 million eggs since the beginning of the year, 66.3% more than in January-August last year. At the same time, exports amounted to 132.8 million eggs, 28% less than a year earlier.

At the end of September this year, prices for eggs of the first category rose by 2.9% for the month and by 13.6% for the year.
