To date, stocks of grain and flour at flour mills in Kyrgyzstan have decreased and constitute a critical volume, World of NAN reports with reference to agro.kg.
At a press conference in Bishkek today, Rustam Zhunushev, president of the Association of Flour Mills, reported on the minimum volumes.
According to him, the reason for the deficit was both problems with the transit of grain through Kazakhstan, and a shortage of grain carriers in Russia.
"These reasons influenced a significant reduction of flour and grain stocks in the warehouses of domestic millers. And if events in which neighboring countries close borders or impose a ban on the export of grain and flour repeat themselves, we will be able to provide the population of Kyrgyzstan with flour for only 25-30 days," Zhunushev said.
