DJI Agriculture, a leading player in the agriculture drone industry, has released the Agriculture Drone Industry Insight Report. It shows how fast the agriculture drone market is growing in 2023, World of NAN reports.
The rapid adoption of agricultural drones across the globe is a testament to the transformative power of emerging technologies in the agri sector. By the end of June 2024, 300,000 agricultural drones have already cultivated more than 500 million hectares of farmland worldwide.
The use of drones in agriculture has saved resources by reducing water consumption by 210 million tonnes and pesticide use by 47,000 tonnes. It has also reduced carbon dioxide emissions by 25.72 million tonnes, which is equivalent to the amount of carbon dioxide that 1.2 billion trees can absorb. This demonstrates the sustainability and innovation of modern farming.
The report says that governments in some countries have begun to relax regulations governing drone use. For example, in Brazil, ANAC has changed the requirements: now drone registration and a licence for pilots are only required before they can be operated.
In the US, the FAA has published a list of agricultural drones that have been approved and can be used. China has introduced regulations allowing manufacturers to train drone pilots.
The report also presents best practices and provides valuable advice on personnel training, the use of drones in agriculture, and the integration of agronomy and drones.
Earlier it was reported that Kazakhstan will purchase intelligent drones from China's Suzhou Eavision Robotic Technologies Co. The equipment will be used for plant protection in agriculture.
