Rosstat records a significant decrease in the production of agricultural machinery in September compared to the same period last year, reports World of NAN with reference to rg.ru.
In total, 5.7% fewer tractors were produced in January-September 2023 than in the same period of 2022. Production of general purpose plows in September fell by 34.2% year-on-year. Production of tooth harrows decreased by 24.9% and seeders by 7.3%.
Grain harvester production was down 33% in September this year versus September 2022 and 61.9% versus August 2023. However, in the first nine months of this year, 39.3% more combines were assembled than in the same period in 2022.
Experts attribute the decline in production to a decrease in the income of agrarians. It is also possible that companies are creating artificial shortages to increase prices.
