Vaccines against bird flu are urgently sent to Mangistau

Cases of swan deaths were registered on the shore of Lake Karakol in Mangistau region. Samples of pathological materials have tested positive for avian influenza. In this regard, the country has taken emergency measures, reports World of NAN.

"To prevent the spread of the infection among domestic birds, the Committee for Veterinary Control and Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture has allocated 18,644 doses of vaccines from the national stockpile to vaccinate all the available stock of farm birds in risk areas. In addition, specialists of the Republican anti-epizootic unit are involved", - told the Committee.

In order to maintain a stable epizootic situation with avian influenza, the local executive bodies carry out explanatory work among the population, veterinarians, hunters, gamekeepers and other stakeholders. Poultry farms have increased veterinary measures, including the exclusion of contact and access of wild and synanthropic birds to feed and water.

According to the information of the Ministry of Agriculture, for today epizootic situation in the country on avian influenza among poultry is stable.

Note that in general in Kazakhstan in 2022 it is planned to vaccinate 14,930,180 poultry heads against highly pathogenic avian influenza. For 12 months 14 764 980 heads (99% of annual plan) were vaccinated. No signs of the disease were observed among domestic birds. Territorial inspections have taken the epizootic situation under control.
