Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov held talks with British Ambassador to Kazakhstan Mrs. Kathy Leach, World of NAN reports with reference to the agency.
On the agenda was the issue of export certificates and their coordination for further cooperation and supply of various products from the UK.
Trade turnover of agro-industrial products between Kazakhstan and Great Britain by the end of 2023 amounted to $59 million dollars, which is 72% more than in 2022 ($34.3 million).
Aidarbek Saparov noted that the Kazakh business community is interested in exporting to the UK a wide range of goods including fish, fish products, aquaculture products, sturgeon caviar, meat and meat products, poultry meat, milk and dairy products, as well as camel and mare milk powder.
The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan has already received from the British side veterinary and sanitary requirements for some types of products of animal origin. Now the agency wants to start the process of obtaining compliance for dairy products and horsemeat. Today, the veterinary services are actively working on the coordination of five more forms of veterinary certificates.
For her part, Kathy Leach promised to assist in solving the issues voiced by Aidarbek Saparov, as Great Britain is interested in developing cooperation with Kazakhstan.
