East-Kazakhstan Region will fully provide the country with refined sunflower oil

The region's enterprises are ready to meet the country's needs in sunflower oil. The Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration S. Zhumangarin was told about it during his work visit to the region, World of NAN reports.

One of the destinations of the visit was the village Predgornoye of Glubokovsky district. Last year there was the technical launch of a plant for the production of vegetable oils - sunflower, rapeseed, linseed, safflower and soybean. In 2022 the oil plant has already produced 58 thousand tons of oil. The plans for the coming years - to put the equipment for deep processing, refining shop. The start of works is planned for 2026.

According to the Director of the plant E. Abdykalykov, after the start of refining, the capacity of which will be up to 500 tons per day, Kazakhstan will be fully provided with the refined sunflower oil of its own production.

Within the framework of his working visit Vice minister met with agribusinessmen and associations, visited farms and peasant farms in the region, got acquainted with potential projects for inclusion in the pool of so-called Big Project (preferential financing of farms development based on the experience of North Kazakhstan region).

Already this year a powerful hub with cross-docking, vegetable stores, hotel, canteen, veterinary laboratory and a place of customs control is planned to be put into operation in the region. At the first stage, in August this year, it is planned to put into operation two vegetable storage facilities with the area of 10 thousand square meters each, for the wholesale distribution center "Altai". According to Zh. Kazanov, director of the WDC, the facility is already 80% ready.

In the second stage, in 2024, facilities for meat, fish, milk production, honey packaging, and a bakery for one ton of bread per day will be built.  According to D. Akhmetov, akim of East Kazakhstan region, the enterprise plans to purchase and export honey, the quality of which meets international standards.
