Moisture deficit in soil is found in grain-growing regions of Kazakhstan

The reserves of productive soil moisture in autumn characterize the available moisture resources formed during September-November and are used to estimate the spring moisture content. "Kazgidromet published an analysis of soil deficits, reports the World of NAN.

"According to the results of route surveys conducted in October-November 2022, there is a deficit of moisture reserves in the meter layer of soil in the predominant area of grain-growing regions before going into winter," the experts said.

According to them, low reserves of moisture prevail in the arable layer of soil (0-20 cm) throughout the country.

The exception is Terektinsky, Syrymsky, partly Zelenovsky and Chingirlau districts of West Kazakhstan region, Martuk district of Aktobe region, partly Karasu, Mendykarinsky, Uzinkolsky districts and district B. Maylin of Kostanai region, as well as in the North Kazakhstan region, north-west of Kyzylzhar district, north Zhambyl district, partly Musrepov and Ayirtau districts, in Akmola region Shortandy and Zerendy districts, Kokpekty district of Abay region and in Altai district of East Kazakhstan region.

In the south and southeast of the country there are mainly satisfactory and optimal conditions of moisture in the soil in the arable layer.

In a meter layer of soil the insufficient level of moisture supply was mainly established in the west, north, center and east of the republic. The most favorable moisture conditions were formed in the south and southeast of Kazakhstan, where mainly satisfactory and optimal moisture reserves in the meter soil layer were observed.
