The Japanese launched a harvesting robot

Japanese agro-tech startup AGRIST unveiled its intelligent harvesting robot at Consumer Electronics Show 2023 (CES) in Las Vegas, World of NAN reports citing freshplaza.com.

The robot was created because of a labor shortage, and this is how the Japanese want to automate harvesting.

"Our robot 'L' is an automatic harvesting system for sweet peppers. Our proprietary artificial intelligence algorithm, using a combination of different types of cameras, allows the robot to identify and pick ready-to-harvest peppers with pinpoint accuracy through multi-layered leaves," shared Junichi Saito, CEO of Agrist

The robot patrols farms daily to monitor crop growth, giving farmers advice on how best to manage the farm. A patent is pending on the suspended robot, which travels by wire and is unaffected by ground motions.

The manufacturer plans to develop horticultural complexes specifically for robots and make comprehensive sales to China, India and other countries.
