Ban on export of breeding stock extended

The interdepartmental commission has extended the ban on export of breeding stock of bovine and small cattle, World of NAN reports with reference to the government.

As of October 1, the number of cattle in all farms of the country increased by 3% to 9.2 million heads. Exports of cattle from January to September 2023 increased 12-fold to 27,200 heads worth $10.3 million.

In addition, in January-October, the production of meat of all kinds in slaughter weight amounted to 996.3 thousand tons, which is 5% more compared to the same period last year.

Also, it was decided to ban the export of unprocessed fish. From April 15 to October 15, 2023, the ban affected pikeperch and catfish. As its results showed, the country has significantly increased the volumes of their processing. And the volume of already processed products for export and sale on the domestic market tripled, reaching 502 tons.

The government believes that export restrictions increase the volume of processing inside the country.
