Ban on export of potatoes and carrots is lifted

From now on, the ban on the export of potatoes and carrots from the country has been lifted, World of NAN reports referring to the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

To recap, since January 22 of this year there was a ban on the export of these vegetables in order to stabilize prices of socially important food products.

"Following the results of meeting of the interdepartmental commission on foreign trade policy and participation in the international economic organizations, which took place on January, 28th, 2022, it has been decided to cancel an acting prohibition on an export of potatoes and carrots from the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. At the same time there are quantitative restrictions on the export of potatoes (TRIEC code 070190) in the amount of 144.5 thousand tons and seed potatoes (TRIEC code 0701100000) in the amount of 57.5 thousand tons up to May 1 this year, "- was stated in the state agency message.

Based on the decision of the IDC an order of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated February 18, 2022 № 44 "On some issues to the export of certain goods from the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan" was adopted. In accordance with this order a quota for the export of potatoes was established.
