Kazakhstan is one of the world's leading grain exporters. Due to drought in 2021 grain yields decreased by 20% as compared with the previous year. Forecasts for 2022 cereal yields are also very subdued. In many regions of the country, there is low snow cover, which, along with frosty winter crops, may result in low spring moisture reserves for the spring sowing of spring crops. This situation forces agricultural producers to think about finding new solutions for successful crop production in extreme climatic conditions. Agricultural producers in other countries face similar problems. That is why DLG and World of NAN decided to bring together experts and commodity growers from Kazakhstan, Australia, Canada and other countries, to discuss best practices of water management in plant production.
