Belarus intends to buy grain in Kazakhstan, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced.
“We have highly developed livestock breeding, but at the same time, we are in a risky farming zone, therefore, we intend to buy your grain for livestock development, particularly fedder grain”, Lukashenko said in an interview with the Kazakh state media.
However, he noted that Belarus lacks its own durum wheat.
“Actually, durum wheat are 50-70 thousand tons. It will be a little, but we need. Despite the fact that we have our own, we do not have enough wheat such as in Kazakhstan, for selected products”, the President of Belarus added.
At the same time, he expressed his intention in mutual trade. According to him, the agricultural sector of Belarus sells products at $ 5-6 billion annually on foreign markets today, and also stressed their desire for $ 7 billion and their willingness to increase supplies, including to Kazakhstan.
