Kazakhstan will spend almost 46 billion tenge on digitalization of agriculture in the next five years, World of NAN reports referring to LS.
According to the plans of the Ministry of Digital Development, 45.9 billion tenge will be allocated from the national budget for the automation of agriculture from 2021 to 2025.
This will allow 95% of land by 2025 to enter the online database. For this purpose a national infrastructure of spatial data will be created. It will require 17,8 billion tenge in 2022-2024. Also for 11.1 billion tenge the country will be provided with digital topographic maps with updated data. In addition, the country will have a digital agribusiness. Another 15.4 billion tenge will be spent on remote sensing.
Digitalization will allow more efficient use of land. Today, according to the Ministry of Ecology, almost a third of agricultural land is on the verge of or has already degraded. Also, more than 10 million hectares of land, which can be arable, are abandoned. The problems can lead to large financial losses.
