A British man has set a world record for wheat yields

The yield of wheat 179.6 c/ha and barley 162 c/ha was achieved by a farmer from the UK Tim Lamiman, reports World of NAN, referring to Graincentral.

The results were achieved last year 2022, the Briton harvested wheat with a record yield from 8 hectares. His achievement was marked by the annual award of the United Kingdom of Britain yield increase.

The previous record holder for wheat was New Zealand farmer Eric Watson. He set a record of 173.98 c/ha in 2020. For barley, on the other hand, Tim Lamiman surpassed his record of 142 c/ha set in 2021. The British farmer had also previously set a record for rapeseed yields of just over 70 c/ha.

"Either farmers don't understand how good their land is, or science is too pessimistic about the potential of farming," commented YEN director and founder Roger Sylvester-Bradley on the British farmer's achievement.
