Elevators and cereal receiving station were allowed to engage in additional types of earnings

At the initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture, amendments and additions were introduced to the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which allow elevators and grain reception center to engage in additional activities and provide related services, the public relations department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.

“The Law “On Amendments and Additions to Some Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Agro-Industrial Complex Regulation”, signed by the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on October 28, 2019, provides for the improvement of existing and the introduction of new financial instruments. In particular, amendments were made to the Law On Grain in order to create a favorable business environment, which provide the right for grain-receiving enterprises to provide related services, such as:

- the provision of railways in their ownership for use by other entities;

- the sale of cereal products;

- processing and sale of oilseeds;

- storage of grain screenings.

Prior to the adoption of the new law, grain receiving enterprises could not engage in activities not related to the warehouse. The introduced changes will allow them to receive additional income”, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan said in a statement.
