Kazakhstan will lose another wheat market

Iran's Agriculture Ministry plans to stop importing wheat until March 2025 as domestic production meets demand, World of NAN reports.

The authorities do not rule out that the harvest potential will significantly depend on the amount of precipitation during the ripening period of crops.

Last year, Iran's domestic wheat production reached 10.5 million tons, and the country needed to import only 1 million tons of the grain to meet domestic needs.

Last year, Kazakhstan exported 68.6 thousand tons of wheat to Iran, and 559.1 thousand in 2022. The sales market cannot be called large, but even its loss with growing competition from the north does not bode well.
