The EU will limit imports of Russian and Belarusian agricultural products

The European Union summit has accepted the proposal of Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda to restrict imports of Russian and Belarusian agricultural products by raising tariffs, World of NAN reports.

The Lithuanian president suggested strengthening the sectional policy because of the war. He noticed an increase in exports of agricultural products from Russia and Belarus to Europe.

"We have to take decisions to prevent their imports. First of all, I would like to urge my colleagues to take some economic measures, additional tariffs to make imports from Russia, Belarus uncompetitive," the Lithuanian president said.

The EU supported the proposal, and now Russian producers will have to look for new markets.
