Farmers have created an agrarian cluster with a full cycle of livestock breeding

An agrarian cluster with a full cycle of livestock breeding: reproduction, breeding, rearing and fattening has been formed on an area of 69,000 hectares in Alakol district of Zhetysu region, World of NAN reports.

The Shynzhyly farm with 3,000 heads of pedigree cattle is engaged in reproduction. Arkharly-Mayburek LLP is engaged in breeding. Kayyindy LLP has a fattening ground for 5 thousand cattle and a meat processing plant with a capacity of 700 sheep and 60-120 cattle or horses per day. At the same time there is a readiness to increase its capacity up to 25 thousand heads.

Alakol Agro LLP has been working on improving the meat breed of sheep for 5 years on an industrial scale.

"On pasture rearing it is possible to receive 1.2-1.5 kg of cattle weight gain per day, and in total - 200-250 kg. The cattle enter the pastures with a live weight of 350-400kg. They gain up to 200kg over the summer, and the remaining 150kg are fattened by stall fattening," Alakol Agro director Umirbek Akhmetov said.

He plans to build a 50,000-head feedlot for small cattle. The company also has its own training center, where scientists and breeders have been working for many years to improve breeds of cattle and small horned cattle. They are ready to share their knowledge with state scientific institutes, so that their knowledge could work for the benefit of agriculture of the whole country.
