Kazakhstan ready to increase export of agricultural products to Azerbaijan

As part of the visit of the head of state to Azerbaijan, Aidarbek Saparov met with the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic Majnun Gadir oglu Mammadov, reports World of NAN with reference to the Ministry of Agriculture.

According to the results of 2023, the volume of bilateral trade in agro-industrial products decreased by almost half and amounted to about $ 75 million. However, new commodity positions - cattle, meat, poultry by-products - have already appeared in the structure of Kazakhstan's exports to Azerbaijan this year. In addition, the countries have already exchanged lists of interested producers of agro-industrial complex products. Therefore, work on increasing the volume of export/import of goods between the two countries will continue.

At the same time, work is underway on the bilateral elimination of veterinary restrictions. Thus, in February 2023 it was agreed to issue veterinary certificates for the export from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan of pedigreed and slaughtered cattle and small cattle, finished meat products (canned meat, sausages, etc.). In order to expand the mutual trade, the Ministry of Agriculture will continue to work on harmonization of veterinary and sanitary requirements for milk and milk products, poultry meat and poultry products.

Aidarbek Saparov emphasized that Kazakhstan is interested in supplying the Azerbaijani market with sunflower oil, confectionery, chocolate, butter, ice cream, meat and meat products and other products.
