Kazakhstan is a leader among exporting countries of organic wheat and flax

The specialized demonstration "Kazakhstan Field Day "Zhana Dala"/"Green Day" 2021" held the 2nd International Conference "QAZAQ ORGANIC FOODS". At the conference, experts discussed the achievements in the field of organic production and prospects for the development of the industry. According to the EEC, Kazakhstan is recognized as one of the leaders in the export of organic wheat and oilseed flax, World of NAN reports referring to the Ministry of Agriculture.

Speeches and presentations of domestic and international experts were devoted to topical issues of organic market development, legal aspects of organic production, international and European requirements for organic certification.

As noted by the conference participants, Kazakhstan has great opportunities for the development of organic agriculture. According to the official data of the European Commission, according to the results of the 2018-2019 season, Kazakhstan is in 9th place among the 123 countries exporting organic products to the European Union member states.

The main organic agro-products of Kazakhstan is wheat and flax. In terms of organic wheat Kazakhstan is in 4th place among the exporting countries to the European Union, and oilseeds flax - in 6th place.

In addition, Kazakhstan is characterized by high growth potential of organic livestock, as the main livestock is free-range, which is one of the main components of organic production. Such national dairy drinks as "koumiss" from mare's milk, "shubat" from camel's milk and others can be considered as unique types of organic products of animal origin.

During the event, experts were unanimous in the opinion that the implementation of the planned activities for the development of organic agriculture would create a domestic market for organic products of the Republic of Kazakhstan, to increase its export, to promote population health, improve the ecological environment, production of safe food for human health.

In general, the conference acted as an effective platform for demonstration of advanced developments in the field of agriculture, exchange of experience and development of business contacts between domestic and foreign agrarians, demonstrated a clear presentation format of organic products and solutions in the field of agriculture.
