China shows active interest in Kazakhstan

China's largest businessmen discussed with Trade Minister Serik Zhumangarin the possibilities of cooperation and investment in Kazakhstan's agriculture, World of NAN reports with reference to the Ministry of Trade.

Thus, the chairman of the Chinese Association of Phosphate Fertilizer Producers Xu Xuefeng told about the development of the industry in China. Today China occupies a third of the world production for two types of phosphate fertilizers, and their exports account for about 30% of the world turnover, for another one - 11% of the world turnover and 15% of world exports.

"Our association has about 400 members, covering over 90% of all fertilizer producers in the PRC. I think our members can support cooperation between Kazakhstan and China in fertilizer production," Xu Xuefeng said.

Tian Weihong, secretary general of the China Seed Trade Association, suggested jointly developing the seed industry in Kazakhstan.

"Seeds are the foundation of agricultural development. In 30 years, we have made great breakthroughs. The performance of varieties of crops such as rice, corn and many other crops is especially good. High-quality seeds can meet not only the demand of China, but also abroad. This is just in line with the potential of Kazakhstan, where there are huge areas for planting. We can promote the development of seed industry in your country. We can also transfer our advanced digital technology and artificial intelligence for agriculture to contribute to the safety of cereals in Kazakhstan," Tian Weihong emphasized.

The Kazakh delegation was very interested in Ms. Tian Weihong's proposal. They invited a group of specialists from the association to come to Kazakhstan in August to discuss ways of cooperation.

Other participants made proposals to establish cooperation in the production of agricultural machinery, Internet banking, and innovative technologies in agriculture.
