The Farmers Association of Kazakhstan said that the program of preferential credit for agricultural machinery should not only be continued, but its budget should be increased, reports World of NAN.
In the three months of last year, more than a thousand pieces of equipment were bought under the program. Thus, in three months 40 billion tenge was disbursed.
"Even after the program ended, applications continued to come in. This year we will ask for an amount up to 100 billion tenge, because without updating of equipment, further development of agriculture is impossible. The quality of production also depends on the novelty of the equipment," notes Akpar Maulenov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Association of Farmers of Kazakhstan.
Farmers are also asking for the program to be resumed as soon as possible because the sowing campaign in some regions begins next month. Even the Ministry of Agriculture has asked the Government to continue the program of concessional lending of agricultural equipment.
