National standard for greenhouses will be developed in Kazakhstan

The government delegation met with greenhouse workers of Turkestan region. In an open dialogue the parties discussed the further development of the industry. The Deputy Prime Minister - the Minister of Trade and Integration S. Zhumangarin noted that in order to receive subsidies in the future, greenhouses should correspond to production standards, World of NAN reports.

According to the statistics, the region accounts for 67% of the country's greenhouses, these are greenhouses with a total area of 844 hectares. Of these, 170 farms on 46 hectares were recently affected by heavy snowfall and fuel outages. The most popular vegetables - cucumbers and tomatoes - were sown on 1.3 hectares. As it turned out, 94% of the greenhouses that could not withstand the heavy snowfall were of light construction, hand-built by the farmers themselves. As the farmers noted at the meeting, the owners built them as cheaply as possible in order to quickly recoup their expenses.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Trade, the greenhouse growers who gathered stated that if there is stable support from the state or long term loans at low interest rates, the farmers will be able to build greenhouses according to the required standards and technologies. The Minister of Trade, on the other hand, voiced the state's requirements.

"First, the state needs results. Subsidies to greenhouse farms existed before, but they were of little use: greenhouses were listed as operating, but they did not produce anything. If the government gives subsidies, then in return you must sell enough vegetables on the domestic market and at market prices. The second thing is certification. In order to receive subsidies in the future, a greenhouse will have to meet production standards. For this, a national standard for greenhouses will be adopted, "- said S. Zhumangarin.

A corresponding order has already been given to the Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology. Vice-Minister of Agriculture Abulkhair Tamabek said that through the ACC 140 billion tenge was sent to finance the spring field work, now works on the inclusion of greenhouses in the funding direction of the program are underway. After making appropriate changes in the conditions of the program greenhouse producers will also be able to receive loans not exceeding 5%.

Daniyar Kaltayev, the Chairman of National Association of Cotton Producers and Farmers, told that greenhouse producers don't have money to buy coal in advance, there is no place to store it in sufficient quantity. And all this leads to the non-competitiveness of production.  Entrepreneurs ask to supply them with social coal in advance.

Zhanat Igisinov, the Head of the Coal Industry Committee of the Industrial Development MIDR RK, suggested that in order to timely supply coal to the greenhouse farms of the region, they should negotiate with the key coal mining companies of the country and conclude contracts on coal supply directly from coal mines.

"Agreements can be worked out in the region. And for its part, the Ministry of Industry is ready to assist in negotiations with coal mining companies on the supply of coal. But everything should be done in advance, not with the onset of cold weather," - he stressed.
