German companies are interested in processing agricultural waste

Prime Minister Askar Mamin held a meeting with the heads of major German companies, as well as the Eastern Committee of the German economy. The parties discussed the status and prospects of joint projects, reports World of NAN with reference to the press service of the Prime Minister.

The head of the government noted that Germany is one of the largest trading partners and key investors of Kazakhstan. Since 2005 the volume of direct foreign investments of Germany in the economy of Kazakhstan amounted to about $5.1 billion. Despite the pandemic, German companies continue to actively invest in the economy of Kazakhstan. In the first quarter of 2021 this figure rose by 72% compared to the same period last year and exceeded $ 64.6 million.

German speakers, in turn, gave a positive assessment of the pace of development of digital technology in Kazakhstan and expressed interest in joint projects, including the production of "green" hydrogen and recycling of agricultural waste.

In the first half of 2021, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Germany increased by 26% to $1.2 billion. Over 950 enterprises with the participation of German capital work in Kazakhstan in the energy, agribusiness, mechanical engineering, construction and logistics sectors.
