Biased statistics: agricultural census to be held in 2025

A decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the conduct of a national agricultural census from August 1 to October 20, 2025 has been published, reports World of NAN.

For this purpose, a special commission will be created, which will coordinate the activities of the central and local executive bodies in the conduct of the national agricultural census.

Recall, farmers and deputies have repeatedly stated about additions to agricultural statistics, which are collected by akimats. The picture of development of the agro-industrial complex sector may be completely different than it is shown by official data.

Of course, the question remains as to the objectivity of assessing the situation. Data are again collected by akimats, which are not interested in accuracy, as any reduction negatively affects local executive bodies. How will this issue be controlled? It is not clear. Apparently, the government hopes for a special commission and conscience of officials.
