A group of scientists from the Kazakh Agricultural Research University named after S. Seifullin has developed an innovative additive for cattle feed, World of NAN reports with reference to the educational institution.
Researchers have launched three fodder production facilities. The product is produced to increase the productivity of cattle and is a source of biologically active substances designed to stimulate the physiological processes of their digestion.
"On the other hand, biologically active feed additive is effective in increasing the immunity of animals. In simple words, bovine cattle eating this type of feed does not spend extra energy on digestion, thus increasing the productivity of the animal," says scientist Yuriy Balji.
The extrusion method is used to prepare fodder. Extrusion is a barothermal process that increases the nutritional value and safety of the feed. When extrusion is used, harmful substances are destroyed in the product. The necessary feed vitamins are then introduced with special precision.
If the extrusion method is not used, the feed efficiency is reduced by 50-55%. Compound feeds in which the extrusion method was used show an efficiency of 95%. In short, peasant farms that will use this product will save twice as much feed.
It is also worth noting that the domestic product uses phytobiotics, which are an alternative to antibiotics. Phytobiotics are plant extracts that have antibacterial properties.
Supplement composition:
- Fatty acids (55%) - stearin, olein, palmitin, etc;
- Flavonoids (6.78%) - pinostrobin, pinotsembrin, chrysin;
- Organic acids (2.5%) - glycolic, apple, citric;
- Phenolic acids (2%) - populin, salicin;
- Carbohydrates (1.9%) - glucose, fructose, ribose; essential oils (1%);
- Vitamins A, C, P, B12;
- trace elements (mg/kg) - iodine (1058), zinc (52), manganese (8.25), copper (6.17), cobalt (0.015);
- Amino acids - asparagine, alanine, valine, leucine;
- Phenolglycosides - populin, salicin and other compounds of the class exhibit high biological activity.
"The food product, originally intended for bovine cattle, is now being developed for small cattle and other domestic animals, and the scientific data, as well as their results are being consolidated," added Yuriy Balji.
