A cattle breeder in Zhambyl region has had his cattle worth 110 million tenge stolen. The police arrested the suspects and they face up to 7-12 years of imprisonment, reports World of NAN referring to Polisia.kz.
The 46-year-old head of an agricultural enterprise engaged in cattle breeding has made a statement to the police about the theft of cattle. The man reported that from October 2021 to August of this year a herdsman and a manager of neighboring farm in Korday region secretly stole breeding cows owned by the LLP.
During search operations, police officers detained people who were residents of Shu district and Almaty, born in 1972. The suspects confessed. Investigators found that the man had planned beforehand which flock to steal the cattle from. He purposely mixed two herds and grazed them. In the evening, together with another cattleman, he would divide the herd, but at the end, he would discreetly drive a few animals back to his own herd. At night he would separate the excess cattle from the herd and drive them to a neighboring farm where the manager would subsequently sell the stolen cattle.
Thus, the detainees stole 137 cows. The amount of damage caused was 109.6 million tenge. Suspects were taken to the temporary detention facility. The Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan stipulates punishment for this crime in the form of imprisonment for 7 to 12 years with confiscation of property.
