The Eurasian Economic System will tighten the requirements for raw milk from 2025. Rural residents and small farms will not be able to fulfill these requirements, so processors will be left without a huge share of raw milk, reports World of NAN.
According to the new rules, milk must be harvested by machine milking and immediately transferred to cooling tankers. Such conditions small farms producing up to 90% of raw milk will simply not be able to provide.
"Loading of processing plants will decrease to 40% due to the lack of raw materials for processing. Up to 90% of dairies will be forced to stop their work. Up to 70% of villagers who currently have an income from milk will lose their source of permanent income," said Senator Zakirzhan Kuziyev.
To solve the impending problem, the deputy proposes to stimulate service-consumer cooperation of small farms and smallholdings. For this purpose, it is important to credit villagers more actively and create service and procurement centers. To reform the system of agricultural subsidies, reducing the number of types of subsidies, leaving only a few key ones out of fifty. It is also important to exempt the turnover of food products, including the production of agricultural raw materials, its processing and sales, from value added tax.
