Ignoring laws: Kazphosphate overestimated prices

The Department of the Agency for Protection and Development of Competition in Zhambyl Region has completed an investigation against Kazphosphate LLP, initiated at the request of consumers, World of NAN reports with reference to the agency.

In the course of analysing the activity of this enterprise, the facts of violation of antimonopoly legislation related to setting monopolistically high prices for liquid oxygen were revealed. This fact is a violation of the basics of the competitive market and contradicts the interests of the country's consumers.

Resolution of the Specialised Court for Administrative Offences of Taraz city issued a ruling, according to which Kazphosphate LLP was brought to administrative responsibility in accordance with Part 3 of Article 159 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The company was imposed an administrative fine of 1,203,300 tenge and confiscation of monopoly income in the amount of 8,344,170 tenge.

Recall that the Ministry of Agriculture changed the system of fertiliser subsidies, now subsidies will go to local producers. Given the unfairness of the LLP, farmers should be on their guard, as the company may unreasonably increase prices.
