Criminal group was stealing subsidies with the help of civil servants

The AFM Department in Kostanai region has completed a pre-trial investigation in a criminal case against an organized group led by the director of the meat processing enterprise "BEEF EXPORT GROUP" LLP, reports World of NAN with reference to the Department.

The group of persons for a long time engaged in embezzlement of budgetary funds allocated by the state as subsidies in the framework of the National Project "Development of agro-industrial complex of the Republic of Kazakhstan", causing damage to the state in the amount of more than 3 billion tenge, of which during the pre-trial investigation 107 million tenge was recovered, the property of the suspects in the amount of 3.1 billion tenge was seized.

A total of 49 persons were involved in the criminal scheme, including 13 members of the organized group, who are charged with misappropriation of subsidies, tax evasion, illegal business activities, legalization of criminally obtained property, bribery of officials and forgery of documents.

The head of the organized group is also suspected of using violent actions against a civil servant, who conducted a tax audit of the activities of his controlled company. Also managers and representatives of 30 peasant farms of Kostanai, Aktobe, North-Kazakhstan, Pavlodar and West-Kazakhstan regions are considered suspects in the case.

In addition, as part of the pre-trial investigation, suspicions have been raised against 3 officials of the State Institution "Department of Agriculture of the Akimat of Kostanai region", who committed aiding and abetting the embezzlement of funds and bribery. 7 veterinarians are charged with forging documents, entering knowingly false information into the information system, as well as receiving illegal remuneration.

At present they are being familiarized with the materials of the criminal case.
