Problems and prospects of the development of agricultural science

Today, the meeting of the Committee on Economic Policy, Innovative Development and Entrepreneurship of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Problems and Prospects for the Development of Agricultural Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan” was held at S.Seifullin Kazakh Agro Technical University.

Member of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan (RoK) Adilbekov D.Z., members of the Committee of the Senate of the Parliament of RoK, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of RoK, the Ministry of Agriculture of RoK, Chairman of the Board of Non-commercial JSC “NASEC”   Rakhimbekov T.S, Chairman of the Board of NAE “KazATU” named after S. Seifullin Kurishbayev A.K., General Director of LLP “Kazakh Research Institute of Agriculture and Plant Growing” Ageyenko A.V., General Director of “Kazakh Scientific Research Veterinary Institute” Sultanov A.A. took part in this event, as well as scientists and experts.

Important proposals aimed at the development of domestic agricultural science were discussed at the meeting.

Along with the improvement of legislation on the development of the agribusiness, stimulation of work on basic and applied research in strategically important sectors of the economy was stated as necessary. In addition, educational institutions of the country on training specialists in the field of agriculture were addressed on conformance of education to modern requirements. The issue was raised on training highly qualified and educated specialists in higher educational institutions not only theoretically, but also by developing industrial practices and transforming universities into scientific research institutions.

Chairman of the Board of KazATU named after S.Seifullin a scientist, academic A. Kurishbayev spoke about the transformation of the university into a research agricultural university and noted that the university, using all its scientific and personnel potential, is ready to become a reliable partner of agriculture. In addition, he spoke about the implementation of an international project aimed at training personnel in a new format for the agricultural sector of the economy. KazATU, together with AgroParisTech University, France, have developed a roadmap for the modernization of curricula and the transition to double-degree education.
