Prodkorporatsiya wants to change the form of forward purchasing

Farmers were presented with changes to forward purchasing of agricultural products in 2024. About 50 people attended the online meeting to discuss Prodkorporatsiya's proposals, World of NAN reports, citing NCE.

"This year, the grain market is showing low purchasing prices for wheat and other oilseeds. Last year the price of wheat in May-June was 160-170 thousand tenge per ton. This year it is 80-100 thousand tenge. In this regard, there is a need to consider different approaches to determining the purchase price in the framework of forward purchases "- said First Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC" NC "Prodkorporatsiya" Darkhan Dautov.

He presented three options for discussion:

The first, the classic forward, a fixed price for agricultural products delivered in the spring in the fall and one hundred percent prepayment in the spring.

The second, a fixed price for agricultural products delivered in the spring in the fall and seventy percent prepayment. And ten percent payment upon delivery of the product.

The third, we propose to keep in 2023. We give a certain part of the prepayment in the spring, and the delivery will be made in the fall. Also, the price is set in the fall.

"Since this is the first meeting, there are a lot of questions. Everybody wants an objective price. Agricultural unions can collect an acceptable price throughout the region. We need to get farmers' opinions tomorrow so there are no inefficiency issues. It won't take long. The head of each farm knows its price. They can pay for the goods, cover the costs. Everything has gone up in price now, except the farmer's labor. All the costs associated with working the land - herbicides, fertilizers, machinery - have gone up in price, wages have to be raised. The additional costs are enormous. Farmers can't influence these conditions in any way. Therefore, at the next meeting, let's discuss a clear figure - the price and make a decision, so that the farmer is not left at a loss, "- suggested the acting chairman of the National Chamber Yerbol Yeseneyev.
