Agricultural machinery and accessories will rise in price again

Traffic at the border crossing Poland-Belarus "Kukuriki-Kozlovichi" has been limited since February 21. According to the representative of the Grain Union, Tlek Bekbasarov, the situation could trigger a significant rise in prices of agricultural machinery and spare parts, reports World of NAN, citing Agroqogam.kz.

According to Tlek Bekbasarov, there is limited import through Europe now, but there will be delays in the supply of spare parts and machinery. Some deliver machinery through the trans-Caspian route. But it is longer and twice as expensive. And the northern route has always been distinguished by the fact that it is possible to deliver in two weeks, sometimes even shorter.

Another important factor for the rise in price of components was the decision of the European Union to ban imports of synthetic rubber and carbon black, from which tires are made.

"In agricultural machinery prices for tires have been rising steadily during the year. And now they have decided to ban imports of rubber. The main consumers of rubber and carbon black were Hungary, Poland and Italy. They have tire production there. Now this raw material will come from other countries. Naturally, it will be more expensive. And the logistics will be rearranged. Accordingly, we will buy these tires from European countries again and import them through Georgia, Azerbaijan and Aktau. This is a long route, multimodal, going through several states first by sea tankers. And all the tires are going to get more expensive. Therefore, taken together, this package of sanctions could lead to an increase in price by 30-40% during 2023," concluded a representative of the Grain Union.
