An international business forum "Seeds for the Future" organized by the Seed Growers Association of the Republic of Turkey was held in Antalya. During the meetings the parties came to an agreement to conduct joint scientific research, reports World of NAN.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, a Kazakh delegation headed by Vice-Minister of Agriculture Abulkhair Tamabek took part in the event. Vice-Minister spoke about the work on development of seed production in Kazakhstan, in particular, he noted the need for joint development of primary seed production in the Republic, inviting Turkish partners to invest in the agroindustrial complex of Kazakhstan. Forum participants were actively interested in measures of state support from the Government of Kazakhstan.
"During the forum several meetings with producers of crop seeds were held. They agreed to carry out joint scientific research in cotton growing, oilseeds production, as well as internships for young scientists in the field of breeding," the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture said.
According to the results of the panel discussion, vegetable growing, horticulture, production of agricultural machinery and equipment are seen as promising areas for Turkish businessmen in Kazakhstan. Also, the Turkish side is interested in the processing of fruits and vegetables, sugar production, confectionery, as well as the production of deep processing of sugar beet, fruits and vegetables.
