Scientists have developed cucumber varieties adapted to Kazakhstan's climate

Zhubanov University scientist, candidate of biological sciences, associate professor Aliya Bazargaliyeva has been conducting research for three years in cooperation with the Kazakh Research Institute of Horticulture in Almaty, reports World of NAN with reference to the Ministry of Science.

"We have bred cucumber varieties that are adapted to the local climate and have successfully completed trials on growing 5 varieties of cucumbers in the agro-ecological conditions of Aktobe region," the scientist explains.

Scientists systematically conducted tasting procedures of cucumber varieties in accordance with special requirements. The result of ecological variety testing allowed to identify the most resistant to the natural conditions of Aktobe cucumber variety.

By the decision of the "National Institute of Intellectual Property" of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a patent for 100% pure linear variety of field cucumbers "Aliya Moldagulova" was issued for the breeding achievement.

"This is a long-awaited joyful result. Our new task is to reproduce quality seeds in accordance with market needs, introduce them into production, provide scientific and methodological support if necessary, and start seed production of the new patented cucumber variety," shares Aliya Bazargaliyeva.
