Kazakhstan has secured food security level for 23 commodities

Prime Minister Askar Mamin reported to the President of Kazakhstan on the implementation of measures to curb food prices, World of NAN reports referring to the press service of Akorda.

Askar Mamin said that the government is working to prevent price rigging by dominant business entities as part of antimonopoly response measures. Thus, 23 out of 29 major food products were guaranteed with food security level, and in regard to the rest the provision of the market with domestic production is below 80%.

"Within the framework of measures to ensure self-sufficiency of the national economy, 35 dairy farms, 2,200 hectares of orchards, 3 meat packing plants, 5 poultry farms, 4 farms of fish production will be launched this year," added the Prime Minister.

In addition, food stabilization funds have been formed, funds have been allocated for the revolving scheme, forward purchase to ensure food supplies have been implemented.
