Turkey discussed the extension of the grain deal

Turkey is holding talks on extending the grain deal for 120 days. Discussions have already been held with Russia and Ukraine at the technical level, reports World of NAN, citing Millyet.

Russia's decision to extend the deal by only 60 days was previously announced by the country's Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin. He attributed this to the lack of progress in the resumption of exports of Russian agricultural products and ammonia. The UN said it had taken note of this position of the ministry and promised, despite all failures, to achieve the removal of restrictions on Russian agricultural exports.

According to experts, the prolongation of the grain deal is of little importance for Russian business; the increasing rate of shipment of Russian grain and other products abroad is the sole merit of Russian exporters. The Union of Grain Exporters said that problems with settlements, freights and insurance remain, just business has adapted.

However, because of these barriers, Russian grain exporters are gradually taking over Kazakhstan's export markets. This negatively affects the price of the product and makes Kazakh farmers worry about the future. If Russia is offered to block their traditional markets, the struggle for exports in Asia will become much tougher.
