A laboratory will be opened in East-Kazakhstan region and in Khorgos for direct export of agricultural products to China

The Ministry of Agriculture of the RK and the customs office of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the PRC at the annual meeting of heads of border customs bodies of two states considered the possibilities for simplifying the export of Kazakh agricultural products.

In the course of the event, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan brought up for discussion the inclusion of Kazakhstan's farmers under the guarantee of the Department in the Register of enterprises eligible for export to China.

In addition, proposals were considered to open in the East Kazakhstan region of the laboratory for quality control and safety of agricultural products accredited by the Main Customs Administration of the PRC, as well as the establishment of veterinary and phytosanitary posts with a laboratory certified by China on the territory of the ICCC (International Center for Cross-Border Cooperation) "Khorgos".

The work of such facilities would allow to simplify and accelerate the passage of Kazakh agricultural products through the border control.

Also, the Ministry of Agriculture made a proposal to accelerate the review and approval procedures of veterinary and sanitary requirements for chilled meat, by-products and other agricultural products exported from Kazakhstan to China.

In addition, the XUAR Customs Office proposed ways of cooperation on laboratory diagnostics of diseases of horses imported from Kazakhstan.

For reference: to date, protocols on export to China for 19 types of plant and animal products, including wheat, flax seeds, barley, alfalfa, maize, wheat bran and feed, rapeseed meal, wheat flour, honey, wool, dairy products, beef, mutton and pork have been signed.

In total, the Register of Enterprises eligible for export to China includes 566 enterprises (486 for crop products, 80 for livestock products).
