Smart technology in the service of farmers

Agriculture has taken an incredible leap in recent decades due to the application of modern technology, such as automation, digitalization, artificial intelligence, and other technical discoveries. This has greatly helped farmers, who have come to reap the benefits of the innovations and can now easily optimize costs through savings in fuel, fertilizer, and precision seed sowing. They have the ability to reduce the influence of human error and increase productivity many times over.

CT AGRO has analyzed the points of growth and noted the most significant technological breakthroughs. Everyone who wants to increase the profitability of their business should use them today.

Trackers and sensors

Modern tractors and combine harvesters are equipped with smart devices, which recently focused not on the parameters of the equipment, but on the external environment: soil, crops, plant growth and harvested crops. The CLAAS CROP SENSOR, for example, measures biomass and plant density as well as nitrogen content in the plants. The CLAAS NIR SENSOR on the JAGUAR forage harvester is capable of replacing an entire laboratory with a spectral analysis of the harvested crop based on several parameters.

Cloud technology

The new information technology can easily unite machine and tractor fleets into one network and make them move in tune with the task at hand. Even if the machines used on the farm come from different manufacturers, the international ISOBUS protocol can help with the basic communication between tractors and implements. The CLAAS API is also indispensable - it transfers the data from all machines to all farm management software.

The DataConnect protocol (a joint development of CLAAS, 365FarmNet, John Deere and CNH Industrial) was created to enable data exchange between cloud storage facilities.

Artificial intelligence and automation

Farmers accumulate a huge database of information about soil, weather, crops, fertilizers, etc., which must be quickly and efficiently analyzed to optimize production processes. Developments such as CLAAS TELEMATICS and Valley 365 can already meet this challenge.

Valley 365 is indispensable when it comes to irrigation management: it creates irrigation plans based on analysis of soil, weather, and many other conditions. Remote access system by Valley with GSM-signal allows online control of irrigation systems from a distance: turn them on, off, change different parameters. CT AGRO specialists recommend to pay attention to high-speed X-Tec engine technology, which allows Valley sprinkler system to irrigate 40-60 ha field in 4-5 hours, which is two times faster comparing to previous models. This time saving in the heat of the crop season is a direct benefit and increases profitability.

The CLAAS brand has innovations which not only systematise data from machines and other sources, but also provide a comprehensive analysis which provides the farmer with recommendations on how to carry out certain operations. For example, the CLAAS LEXION and TRION combine harvesters use the CEMOS AUTOMATIC automatic adjustment system, which helps the operator not only to increase output, but also to optimise threshing efficiency and quality.

Unique in service is the REMOTE SERVICE, which enables dealers to monitor the machine remotely and respond to faults and errors. By the way, the updated version 2.0, adapted for the Kazakhstan market, is available in CT AGRO.

Thus, the use of modern electronic and software tools gives farmers maximum information about the ongoing production processes and increases the competitiveness of their business.
