Opening the market for livestock products was proposed to the European Commission

The Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov discussed the removal of trade barriers for agricultural products with the European Commissioner for Agriculture Janusz Wojciechowski, World of NAN reports with reference to the Ministry of Agriculture. 

Kazakhstan exported 650 thousand tonnes of wheat to the EU in 2023, the European Union countries account for 20% of total exports of flax seeds from Kazakhstan, 79% - rape seeds.

Also to date, 18 fish processing enterprises meet high requirements and received the right to export fish products to the European Union. In 2023, Kazakhstan exported 11 thousand tonnes of fish to EU countries (Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Lithuania and others) for a total of more than $60 million.

Saparov suggested the European Commission to work on the supply of livestock products, honey and increase the supply of fish products.

Janusz Wojciechowski thanked the Kazakh side for the open vision of co-operation with the EU and noted that to work out the issues need technical meetings, which should also consider the supply of pork and poultry meat from the EU.
